An anonymous "CX500" keyboard from the thrift store is reborn with some bends and a paint job that for some reason brings to mind Flash Gordon ; hence, "Ming the Merciless". Ming sports a deep, dirty pitch drop knob, a distortion switch, and two hold switches that make for infinite sustain on its cheesy "orchestra" sounds. As an added bonus, Ming's stock mic jack allows another instrument to be affected by the distortion as well.
